What is the requirement for face masks in Surfside Beach?
The town of Surfside Beach recommends that everyone wear a mask in inside public areas - whether tourists, residents or employees. Are employees required to wear face masks?
Yes, all Employees wear masks, shields or are behind plexiglass. Employees preparing or serving food in the on-site restaurant are required to follow the same physical distancing and protection measures. Guest safety is our first priority.

How are the rooms sanitized before check-in?
We follow IHG Clean Promise for the sanitation of the guestrooms. All high touchpoints are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized before check-in. We have a houseman on duty all day, cleaning the lobby and bathrooms. There are hand sanitizers at the front desk, elevator, bar and restaurant.

Can we cancel housekeeping services during our stay?
Presently we do not do housekeeping services if your stay is less than 5 days. We will gladly trade out used towels for new, just call our Front Desk and set the soiled towels outside the door. We will bring you new towels or you can stop by the Front Desk to pick them up.

Is there a Resort Fee at HI Oceanfront Surfside? Do you charge for the pool?
A daily service fee of $16.80 (tax included) is charged to each guestroom. This fee includes the use of our pool, spa and sun deck as well as the beautiful cabanas that line the deck. The deck is a great place to unwind with a cool drink from the poolside bar. Our resort fee also covers parking, use of public amenities, local phone calls and internet service.

Do you have microwaves and refrigerators in the guestrooms?

Do you offer room upgrades?
We will be happy to upgrade your room from City View to Oceanfront (if available) at check-in. There is an additional charge, based on the difference between the rates. Are you an IHG Rewards member? Platinum and Spire members are offered a complimentary upgrade based on availability.

How large is the hotel?
We are a 6-story, 133-guestroom hotel right beside the South Carolina coastline. We also have 2 oceanfront eateries, 4 meeting rooms & banquets, and a newly renovated oceanfront pool with a fire pit.

Are there chairs available for guests on the beach? Are there lifeguards?
The beach chairs are owned and rented by the town of Surfside Beach May through September. You can rent directly from a lifeguard or attendant. Lifeguarding season generally is from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

The closest surf shop is Twins Beach Shop Outlet just 1.5 miles from the hotel and is a great little shop for all your beach gear. There is also a Walmart that is 3.1 miles (9 minutes) from the hotel. Beach chair rentals in Surfside Beach generally cost around $45 for two chairs and an umbrella.

The South Carolina coastline is known for its radiant sunrises and picturesque sunsets. Be sure to put your Instagram to good use. The sunrise and sunset timings vary according to the time of the year but you can use the normal Google Calendar for daily sunrise and sunset information. Days are longer during summers, with sunsets as late as 8:00 PM. Sunrise timings are more or less between 6:30 – 7:30 AM.
